A gangster made grass grow in the desert - an oasis out of sand, brush, and nothingness.”
Las Vegas owes its existence to the mafia. Names like “Lucky” Luciano, Meyer Lansky, Benny “Bugsy” Siegel,
Sam Giacana and Frank Costello. Infamous mobsters who were intent on creating a sin capitol on the scale of
Havana, Cuba, in the Nevada desert.
The New York, Chicago, Cleveland and Kansas City mafia families set aside their differences to co-exist in Vegas
and to shape it into an adult playground blending glitz, glamour and sleaze into one appealing package. And
anyone who didn’t play by their rules were dealt with by thugs like Tony "the Ant" Spilotro, who claims to have
buried over 50 people in the surrounding deserts.
On this tour you will walk the same ground as these violent pioneers. You will see their hangouts and hear their
stories. Movies such as “Casino” and “The Godfather II” will come to life before your eyes. Modern Vegas will
blend into the backdrop as the story of the mobsters unfolds.
Bringing the tour to life are the two guides: Babs, former social secretary to Frank Sinatra in Las Vegas; and Dan,
grandson of the former owner of the Tropicana and FBI key witness.
