DataMax

Welcome to the GlasPacLX DataMax, the versatile GTS Data Export Module! If your accounting or business application has the ability to import external data files, then DataMax was made just for you! The key to a successful business is to combine the industry's leading point-of-sale software with the accounting or business application of your choice.

How does it work?

It works by letting you export invoices and other customer data files from GlasPacLX using DataMax to a designated external folder, which you will have named and set up at some easily accessible location on your system. The exported invoice and customer data files are automatically formatted, by DataMax, into Comma Separated Value (CSV) text files. CSV text files are nothing but individual strings of data, extracted from various data entry fields located throughout GlasPacLX, that are separated with commas (,). Once you have exported the data, you can use a text reading and editing program such as Microsoft® Excel or Microsoft® Access, to reconfigure the data to meet the importation formatting requirements of your accounting application.

Naturally, because of the technical complexities involved, we suggest that the person responsible for the initial setup and maintenance have knowledge of your accounting or business application's data import features and sufficient programming skills to write appropriate procedures or code to read and reformat the data as necessary.

We've added a reusable template that lets you specify which data fields you want to regularly export from GlasPacLX invoice and customer lists. This template can be saved in DataMax and used time and time again, until you decide to change it. So, after the initial setup, it should be easy to train others to carry out daily file transfer procedures!

The GTS Services Customer Support Representatives are available to help you set up, get started, and answer any questions you may have about the DataMax Module.

Assuming that you've been using GlasPacLX and that it's been properly set up and maintained, you have read the DataMax Overview, and you have a good understanding of how your accounting or business application software imports data, putting the DataMax to work for you is pretty straight forward. Use the following setup steps to get started!

The following setup steps are linked to their corresponding instructions, just click to go to them.
  • Use the Setup Wizard to create and designate an easily accessible external folder for your invoice and customer data files.
  • Verify your settings to make sure that the export folders are in the correct locations and set the number of days you want to list export data.
  • Create a DataMax Template.

Now you are ready to start exporting your invoice and customer data files!

The DataMax Module accommodates accounting other business applications by letting you export invoices and other customer data from GlasPacLX to an external file. From there, you will have to manually configure data to suit the import requirements of your specific accounting or other business application packages. As long as the application that you are exporting to accepts a standard CSV. File format, you are able to bring data from GlasPacLX into your application. This means that your accounting package must be able to import invoices and customer data from an external source.

Because of the technical complexities involved, we suggest that the person (responsible for setting up and maintaining the exported data files) has:

Here are a few of the data types that you can export:
  • Product dimensions
  • Invoice information
  • Customer information

Moderate technical skills with a 3rd party application that can read and edit CSV formatted files, such as Microsoft® Excel or Microsoft® Access.

Complex file formats may require more advanced programming skills to write appropriate procedures or code to read and reformat the data as necessary.

Knowledge of the accounting application's data import features.
